friskies Posted January 4, 2008 I tried DFI Nforce 4 Taipan 03-01-2008 NVMM 4.062.19 19-06-2006, and it works better than the latest official bios, let`s me overclock a tad more without raising the voltages. Very nice! What is nvmm anyways?
non^stop Posted January 8, 2008 I loaded Merlin's 10-26-2007 BIOS in my U-D with Ballistix (Rig #2), and got a nice reduction in latency, and improved some overall! It's a keeper! I tried the same BIOS in my other U-D (Rig #1) and had no appreciable results. I then loaded Merlins 11-23-2007 BIOS with no comparative gains, but helped the OC's to 9x334 (150 mem divider) prime stable for the 2 hours I let it run. First time for that! Only issue I had was that WOL isn't working with the 11-23-2007 BIOS...
iNSANiTi Posted January 11, 2008 I found a ''bug'' in the DFI Nforce 4 Taipan 03-01-2008 NVMM 4.062.19 19-06-2006 bios. Sata 1/2 is actually 3/4 and vice versa. Anyone else noticed it ?
non^stop Posted January 11, 2008 I flashed Taipan 03-01-2008 NVMM 4.062.19 19-06-2006 --> SATA port pairs are flipped - I checked and see it too. WOL doesn't seem to work. Nice boost on my U-D w Sammy's! Benchies all are a bit better for me, Latency reduced too. Fastest for this rig so far. Played a few maps - seems stable. The rig feels Snappy! I like that. soundx98 Posted January 11, 2008 Actually I think the new bios "correctly" names the SATA ports. The original bioses were wrong. (Neo pointed this out long ago)
iNSANiTi Posted January 12, 2008 Allright i didnt know that . But if you follow the stickers on the mobo... Or is that also false ?

red930 Posted February 1, 2008 The intergalactic bios police tried to arrest me the last time i flashed a modified bios, thank god i had my spaceship (Nissan sunny) parked outside! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ticaliano Posted February 2, 2008 I flashed to the 10/26/07 BIOS. It seems pretty decent so far. I like how the memory timings section has been "condensed" a bit.
