Thedoc Posted September 22, 2007 Hi all I have a 975X that runs up to 60+ when gaming on the northbridge. I invested in a swifttech MCW30 which is now running and I used Arctic Ceramique as the thermal paste. The NB is now running at under 50 and up to 55 for gaming. Yours views please, is this normal (also considering the Ceramique is burning in) regards Doc
red930 Posted September 22, 2007 Seems a bit on the high side, but nothing dangerous. What kind of case flow do you have?
Thedoc Posted September 22, 2007 Hi To be honest case air flow is non existent as it is in an enclosed area (computer desk scenario) that backs against a wall. The case also has to be closed as I have a 2 and 3 year old budding computer helpers (along with a mad cat!) To compound matters the desk is also located in a sun trap as it sits next to a patio window  Hope this helps Doc
uneedav8 Posted September 24, 2007 My 975x NB is usually between 44-47 all the time with decent case airflow. Below 50c at idle should be ok.
Voltes-5 Posted September 24, 2007 Put a small fan over the heatsink, I have my nb voltage at 1.7 and just replaced the stock tim to the ceramique and put a small fan over it and even under load it never hits 60.
