Guest Blooz1 Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 IL2-Sturmovik and associated mods + missions. I love WWII fighters, and this game makes you realize how incredibly hard it was just to fly one without killing yourself! There's a reason most WWII fighter pilots were so incredibly young. Fogel Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Numero Uno of all time (for me): Ogre Battle (SNES) StarCraft: Play it when I go visit the parental units BF2: Good anywhere Civ4: Another good one to waste time at the parents place Metroid Series: This . is crack to me. I played the 1st one till it litterally wouldn't play anymore. Metroid Prime (FPS) was one of the most rewarding gaming xperiences - It was hard, made you use everything you got & learned but it wasn't a cheap hard and I think it was the hardest game I've played. And it pushed the graphics for a pos system (game cube) harder than many of the games for the xbox. The 3D map system you could zoom in/out and rotate was tight as hell. Shame more games don't have that kind of map system. Best bosses.
fmc_boss Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Most time consumed; Grand Prix Legends (This game is like learning a musical instrument) Civ 3 (Took leave from work to play it) Dune 2 Wing Commander Fallout / Fallout Tactics Radzone (Old Amstrad CPC title - never finished the bastard) Boulder Dash Wolfenstien Doom / Doom 2 (Spent ages making my own maps/changing sound effects, etc) ...there's bound to be others.. Longevity; CS - again, spent plenty of time doing maps, bot way-points, etc. Still fire it up when i feel the need to shoot some .. Grand Prix Legends - must be over 10 yrs old, & still going strong. Civ 3 - still fire it up occasionally. Battlefield 1942 - still fun on the LAN Veitcong (co-op) - great on the LAN damn - i've wasted my life away
taowulf Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 A couple of the posts here and some back on the EVE-O forums have reminded me of a couple of gems. Mechwarrior 2 + expansion packs. I spent nearly a year or more playing these. Yeah, the Wing Commander series...from the forst cartoonish to the FMV cutscene WC:IV, they all ruled. However, I don't think I EVER finished one. Privateer took me away for a while, that was fun. The creepiest gaming experience I had was the months and months I played Diablo. I had a room with no windows, and it was pitch black except for the light of my screen as i worked my way through the dungeons to finally put the smack down on the final boss. I remember having STACKS AND STACKS of gold outside the church in the village as I couldn't carry it all.

osen Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I've spent to many hours (years) playing Counter-Strike. Began with 1.0 and continued into 1.6. Right now it's Live for Speed (no, not need for speed, se link in sig ), best racing simulator I've ever tried. I've got a raceframe, Logitech G25 and Logitech Z5500, it's great Right now I also play a lot of Bioshock, don't usually like singleplayer but this game rocks.
