Guest switang Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 So testing out my liquid cooled set up, bring a 165 up to 295 x 9. RAM was on a 180/200. Ran ORTHOS on blend for 24 hrs, no errors or warnings, then I exited ORTHOS and went to use either CPU-Z and it froze up. OK... So I reboot and open CPU-Z, click on the Memory tab and it freezes again. Can't remember if I tried it a third time. Weird...
CPDMF Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Try a 3D application, game, benchmark, whatever and see if it will open and run. 3DMark03 is especially good for finding CPU instability that Orthos or prime will not detect.. Don't trust any one app to confirm stability, they all have their downfalls.
Darkorb Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 3dmark03 really? iv ran 06 in a loop all night and it was fine, with CPU and GPU OC
CPDMF Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 3D-03 gave me fits on every OC I have in the 3G club, along with everybody else.
Guest switang Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I'll add that to the arsenal. Thanks.

oc newbie Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 3D-03 gave me fits on every OC I have in the 3G club, along with everybody else. No doubt about that. Not sure how many times I passed prime and froze up in 03 before I started running it first. :tooth:

I've found passing Orthos 8hr+ isn't the tell-all for stability either.
Guest switang Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 OCCT will usually kill me pretty quickly as well. Just run the "Custom (Infinite)" option.
kitfit1 Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 3D-03 gave me fits on every OC I have in the 3G club, along with everybody else. QFT I have a 3.2ghz OCDB entry that would be complete if 3d03 would play ball. If it freezes(as mine does)or just plain fails, then the clock is'nt stable. Regardless of what Prime or Orthos says.
