An old PCI VGA card used until i know the pc works

An old CD drive at 24x

Welcome to the Street.

Follow one of the New Build guides and you should be good to go. Here is one; NF4 SLI-DR - NF4 Ultra-D Step by Step New Build.

And

NF4 LanParty - initial build w/pictures

Something else you might consider is that 350W’er PSU is a little light for the job.

Stick with one from this thread; The Big Giant Power Supply Thread.

The corsair 620W is great or OCZ 700W.

another vote RE: a PS problem.

480w minimum, and it should be a proven unit, the big PS thread linkee will help you in that regard.

get a proper one and i bet it will boot first try.

laterzzz...

I'm not familiar with the make of that PSU, so I couldn't say anything about its quality or reliability, but 28amps on 12v should be sufficient, unless you plan to get a really high end video card. So if you can get a deal on that I'd do it.

Hello,

Means that it is hanging on the VGA detection or the next step.

How old is the PCI card/What is it?

Old things can sometimes cause the board to hang too.

Remove everthing and just use the board/mem/cpu.

So now power the PC without the gfx card + old bits.

Does it beep at you and do the same thing?

If yes = GFX card/old bits.

But please do get a new PSU.
