Dan42684 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16814130057 just wondering if anyone tried this card out or have any experience with it that could give me their opinion on it. Coors Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Well first of all that one is OOS and for a cheaper price you can get a better card than a 7900gs. Angry actually posted one the other day in the "recommended" section. Or for like 50 bucks more you can get a 8800gts. But good choice on the brand though. eVGA is who almost always gets my money when it comes to video cards. They are usually cheaper than the rest and they have a great warranty and step-up program. Dan42684 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I'm not worried about it being OOS but if I can get something better for cheaper then that matters alot. Plus I'm not planning on buying it right away cause I'm just doing my homework right now.

Dan42684 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 yeah I've seen that one, very nice looking card too. Trying to stick with eVGA without shelling out a ton of cash. I'm looking at somewhere up to 250 for a video card.

krazypoloc Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 What resolution are yo running? It makes a big difference. This card is a pretty poor performer. You would probably be better off with a 2600XT if you wanted to go for a "new" card.
Dan42684 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 planning a new system. Resolution is 1280x1024.
krazypoloc Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 You would be fine with this card. But keep in mind it is not a powerhouse by any means, while it should play most if not all games at medium high settings, it will not play very many games at max settings. Also it may struggle with upcoming release titles such as Crysis, COD4, and others. So my advice would be to save another week or two (or 3,4,5,...) and try and get an 8800GTS320. You will not be disappointed at your current monitors resolution I guarantee you.
