To all you AMD fans (I know you're out there), the company is adding an extension to the X86 instruction set in the new Processor family Bulldozer. This processor is scheduled to be released in 2009. If this performs well after the initial release, I might be convinced to upgrade to the new platform.

Here's the article.

As much as I wanted to go with the "Dark Side" because I'm an all-out Sith lover, I'm a neutral guy in this respect. I could go either way, AMD or Intel. Well, right now the utmost choice goes toward Intel because C2D still kicks a lot of butt, we'll see if Phenom can change this. That's beside the point, I'm mostly dedicated to whomever has the highest performance gain for the money, back in the day, AMD was on top of that game, and now Intel is.

Neutral. The other white meat. :tooth:

Here's an article of the new family of desktop processors to come. This article is a month old, but you will have an idea of what's coming and when it's coming.

As everyone knows, the quad-core Opteron CPUs are released. For more information on them, head over to the AMD website. A lot of good articles on them are there.
