Angry_Games Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Hit the first page and check the first news article! http://www.diy-street.com/ I've got an Aspire Q-pack original that I bought from someone here (catkicker?) and I simply love it. I can't wait to check out the Qpack2
Coors Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I plan on getting one of these in a few weeks. Do you think an 8800gtx will fit in one? Otherwise i'm pretty sure my 7950gx2 will fit.
Angry_Games Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 i would assume that a stock cooled 8800 will fit in there no problem it's the aftermarket coolers like the Accelero X2 that stick up above the normal height of a vid card that cause the problems (I can't use my X1900XT that has the accelero on it as it's too tall, but I can use an X1900 and X850XTPE that have an Arctic Silencer and Zalman VF-900)
Coors Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 It's a stock cooled ACS3 version. I was more concerned about the if it would fit longways. It wouldn't fit in my Antec Lanboy so it had me wondering if it wouldn't fit in this case either.
Angry_Games Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 ah didn't think of that (length). I know my X1900XT fit in it with it's stock heatsink (RS482 in the original Q-Pack Aspire), but I can't say whether or not my 8800GTS would fit even with stock cooler... Coors Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Well I guess i'll find out when I get one lol. Do you think you could measure the length of your 8800gts and see if it would fit into your Qpack1? If the gts has enough clearance than theres a chance a GTX might fit. I think the GTX is like an inch or so longer.
Angry_Games Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 well, I can't promise anything. The 8800GTS is in my main rig, surrounded by watercooling, and in a Stacker that is packed between two desks lol. You can check the specs at newegg for any 8800 and then compare them to the specs of an X1900 (the length) and see whats what. I know I had barely room to plug in the 6-pin pci-e with teh X1900 in there, but not so tight it bent the card or something else to angle the power plug in there. Coors Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 np....actually if you could measure the Qpack inside length I could probably figure it out. If not don't worry about it....just want to see if i'll be able to squeeze the 8800 in there if I get a 9800 when they come out. Edit: Google says that an 8800gtx is 10.5" long. Newegg says the case is 14.7" long. Which you'd have to account for the front panel so my logic says that if the front panel is smaller than 4.2" then it should fit. The power connectors for my card are not on the far end but on the side (pointing towards the top panel) so that shouldn't be an issue.
