I started testing the 8x multi. Bios setting are 8x 500FSB (2000QDR). CPU-z v1.40.5, Everest Ultimate v4.0, and nTune v5.05.25 all give the correct setting of 8x 500 FSB - 4.0Ghz. Orthos v0.41.110.18 shows 4.5GHz, 7x 642 FBS. Core Temp 0.95 shows 4.5Ghz, 8x 562.5 which are wrong. It doesn't matter what QDR (FSB) I set in bios, it always reports wrong. All programs are the latest versions.

Using the 7x multi reports incorrect settings with Orthos and Core Temp. 9x is the only multi that reports correct in ALL programs.

Any ideas? Is there a way to fix it?

Back to the 9x multi. 4005Mhz @ 1.525V, Mem @ 445 4-4-4-12-1T. Chilly night , room's amb temp is 21C (toes are a little numb). I gamed @ these setting tonight with no problems. Lets hope for the best when I wake up. That's if I get to bed, damn job and shiftwork gets my days/nights all mixed up.

@darkorb: Mostly play CSS, HL2, and maybe DOOM3. I need to try some others, CSS is my addiction. Games load quick, login into steam then launch CSS takes 20secs.

when u try at stock, and at 4ghz, is there a big diff between ur FPS in the STress TEST?

CPU made no difference, GPU did alittle.

Guest ElAguila

I just got mine a couple of days ago. I justi finished installing my ultra-120 extreme. It dropped my temps over the ultra-120 by 13 degrees C under load. I am currently priming at 9x400 with 1.3875v. Temp while loading both cores at 100% is 43C.

I go around in circles with this MB, love/hate thing. The new 1205 bios only allowed me to get 3.5GHz stable, couldn't even boot/post @ 4G, Memory had to run at 2T. Flashed back to 1103 bios, started from defaults and worked my way to 4G again. Ran lower FSB volts (1.55 VS 1.65) and CPU VTT (1.4 VS 1.5), vCore @ 1.53 Bios. My temps are hitting 67C, cores 1&2 53C.

Trying for anything more will be a task. My MB won't post/boot between 1800-1849 QDR. That makes 1850-1860 my next starting point. 4150+Mhz will require more volts (1.56-1.58???) = more heat. We'll see how lucky I feel.

CSS video stress test:

4045MHz, Mem 449.5MHz (899) 4-4-4-12-1T, 8800GTX @ 648/1026 - 172.73 FPS

4045MHz, Mem 449.5MHz (899) 4-4-4-12-1T, 8800GTX @ 600/900 -- 153.94 FPS

3000MHz, Mem 400MHz (800) 4-4-4-12-1T, 8800GTX @ 648/1026 - 171.28 FPS

3000MHZ, Mem 400Mhz (800) 4-4-4-12-1T, 8800GTX @ 600/900 -- 154.08 FPS

I ran the CSS tests in post#21 with default settings (only difference: Water detail @ Reflect world, Antialiasing Mode @ 4x MSAA, Filter Mode @ Trilinear).
