schoolslave Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Would it be possible to put the radiator under the case? With a spacer and then cut holes for the tubing to go thru?
radodrill Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Sure; as long as there's enough room for air to get to the RAD inlet. I've seen plenty of people mounting their rads on the bottom of their case.
schoolslave Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Thats good to know cuz Im still debating where to put the Rad. It cant go on top cuz the case Im using (Ultra Aluminus) uses this thin aluminum and it would bend the top.lol.
Guest Gir Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 thanks for the great idea. im going to try to use a tripple rad on mine and was considering boxing it into the side panel. but seeing this i am goning to mount in on the bottom and build "feet" for the case to set it up high enough. anyone know xactly how many inches it's need to be built off the ground for good airflow
schoolslave Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I would guess around 2-3...?
radodrill Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 2-3cm (~1in) between the RAD and the floor should be plenty of room to ensure good airflow. In the new custom case I'm designing; I'll mount the RAD on my MB panel, with about a 1" air gab between the MB panel and side panel; there'll be slots on the bottom panel (between the MB and side panels) to allow air to enter the case.
