i have had my rig built for a couple of years now with absolutely no problems. BUT, i did put it us away in storage for about 10 months. Everything was in mint condition and booted right up.

 

I bought a FPS civil war game and when the game starts it looks fine but once i move all of the shading, silohuettes,etc for the whole screen are in the first quadrant.

its almost like having a picture in picture situation with the smaller picture being made up of silohuettes.

 

any help would be obliged. as you can see from my previous posts that im am a newbie at best and if it wasnt for this site i would not have finished my rig

Have you checked your connection between your monitor & your video card. It may be worth reconnecting and making sure the connections on both ends are good-n-tight.

 

You can also try uninstalling & reinstalling your video cards drivers. Make sure you do it properly. Here is the nVidia Tweakguide that will tell you the steps on how to properly uninstallreinstall forceware drivers.

And if that fails to help you can try moving your graphics card to the other PCI-E slot. You may be able to get by without having to uninstall & reinstalling your drivers if you give this a shot by shutting down your rig & if your PSU has a switch on the back of it for turning it on & off, after you shut your rig down make sure you turn it off. Then push the power on button like you were trying to start your computer. This discharges any electricity that may be left over in the capacitors on your motherboard. If your PSU does not have a switch, after you shut your rig down, just unplug it from the wall & push the power on button on the computer for the same reasons above. Then move your graphics card from one PCI-E slot to the other. If you are lucky your video cards drivers will not be affected. I know I was able to remove and reinstall my nVidia cards using the above method several times without having to fool with uninstallingreinstalling the drivers.

 

That's about all I can think of trying for troubleshooting your problem.
