Thasp Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/se...=MBM-680I-Q6600 newegg sells the q6600 for more than they are selling the cpu and the board. edit: the price of the cpu on newegg dropped, but this still kicks newegg's butt. This CPU is sick. I had 3.72 GHz on my e6400 and with some tweaking and a new board chipset(p35) I got 2x the performance I had on the dual. If you're coming from AMDland where their duals are 30-40% slower than Intel duals, wait until you try the Intel quadcore.
ooeric Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 thats still not a good deal since a q66 should be dropping to 3 whole dollars.
Thasp Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 It's a good deal if you're impatient and don't want to wait for it to be $266. I still find that hard to believe.. a good CPU, in a world where there is no competition(AMD is a joke atm), does not go from $950 to $250 in 5 months time. I got my quad core via (legit, no grey market)discount for $300 so I didn't bother waiting for some price drop, but I am skeptical about it unless AMD releases something that can compete.
