Devil 07 Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 The "Mac Fanboy" er IT Director at work decided we needed new Mac Pros for all the control rooms. This is completely pointless and huge waste of money from the entire tech staffs perspective, considering how TDM Pro-Tools works. The Mac is basically a "host" to the DAE engine which runs on PCI-e cards in an expansion chassis. Anyway, I'm gonna be doing a bunch of work on them so they fit into the racks in the machine rooms. Basically chopping the "looped feet" off. During this time I'm gonna try and get one set aside to run some benchmarks on and some stress testing. Does anyone have any suggestion on how I might bring one of these to its knee's. I know its a dumb question, but it's under warranty so why not? I guess some of them stink when they are loaded too, must be the sweatshop workers dropped some sweet and sour chicken in some of them.
