Guest Jakalwarrior Posted May 17, 2007 Only happens when im playing WoW. My temps are fine and sometimes I get to play for 10 minutes, sometimes a few hours. Then WHAM it powers down like I unplugged it. Any ideas? Tried downlocking, tried upping voltages, etc...

thejamesvolta Posted May 17, 2007 If you're having power issues in gaming, I would check your PSU & Video card first.
killagorilla187 Posted May 17, 2007 So, it doesn't happen with other games?
Guest Jakalwarrior Posted May 17, 2007 I don't play anything else except D2 lol. It wasnt doing this in my old ASrock board though. I might just go back to it. Â Its 24 hours prime and memtest stable.
krazypoloc Posted May 17, 2007 Check and see if your PSU fan is actually running. That happened to me a while back and I couldn't figure it out for the life of me, turned out my 120mm PSU fan died and wasn't pushing any air.
Branjo Posted May 18, 2007 do you have your CPU temp shutdown activated in your BIOS maybe its set too low.
Guest Jakalwarrior Posted May 18, 2007 PSU fan is running (why I had to replace my last one too, after it went out it burned up). Bios shutdown temp is set as high as possible (no off setting) and the cpu never goes over 50-55. Im wondering if maybe the temp sensor is messed up and sometimes jumps up real high and makes it shut down. Cant disable the auto shutdown though :/ Â I also tried unplugging the on switch. No help there either.
Guest SPQQKY Posted May 18, 2007 Did you do a reinstall of the OS after you switched from the Asrock to the DFI?
poohsito Posted May 18, 2007 i read DFI's are picky w/ psus, u have a 24pin psu? im also going from my asrock DS2 to a dfi ultra D this weekend, so im curious as to ur outcome.
Guest Jakalwarrior Posted May 18, 2007 No didnt reinstall, I cleared out all the drivers and repaired. Psu im not sure. I just woke up and cant remember how many pins a regular one has but its one of the new ones with a lot of connections on the thing and some of them break off for old mobos. Guest Jakalwarrior Posted May 19, 2007 *edit* I take that back. It does the same thing at all stock settings.
