The samsung and the lg stood out to me the most. What are your opinions on these moniters? Oh, and im gonna be getting a 8800gts 640mb once the ATI's come out. Would it be good for that res?

Thanks!

I'm a bit bias because I own the 226BW and I think it's a fantastic monitor. There was no real comparison in my eyes when I was picking between most of the available 22". The response and brightness are just right. I can't think of using any monitor of lesser quality on my machine. Only fit I get is that I can't adjust the height.

I got a samsung 204B from bestbuy for $350 a couple months ago. Its not a wide screen but i am very happy with its minimalist bezel, good color and good price. Newegg has it for under $300 now, i would have bought newegg but the bestbuy had it in stock for pickup at the same price and i had just RMAd a Shuttle monitor.

Samsung and LG have a good rep AFAIK. Acer are OK too. If you're gaming then aim for anything with a response time of 8ms or less. If any of them have a turbo mode or such like they are likely to show some weird effects (potentially).

View them in a store if poss', also have a look here www.widescreengamingforum.com

best way to do it is go to one of those big chainy type stores that have everything but are way over priced then check them out, what looks good to one person doesn't allways look good to some one else. then when you've figured out what looks good for you hunt it down on the net for the best price. it's the way i shop for nearly everthing and is the best way to get what you want as cheap as you can

There's like a million new monitor threads, maybe we can have a sticky for monitor recommendations.

You know list a few in each size and list what features are important to look for when purchasing a monitor.

Just a thought.
