puzzled Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 There's a cross cut in the middle of the Fluid Heat Exchanger that 2 retention bars go in to to hold everything in place. The 1st retention bar, doesn't matter which one I choose, for AM2 doesn't even go an 1/8 of the way in to the cut out. Shouldn't the 1st bar hit the bottom of the cut out, so that the 2nd one can also follow it in to the cut out? I really don't want to start prying on the FHE with a screwdriver for fear of breaking it. Has anyone else had the same problem? How did you solve it? The reviews make it seem like it's a 5 minute job.
puzzled Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 In this picture it sure looks like the retention brackets fall right in to the cross cut out.
puzzled Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I wiggled a very wide screwdriver in the slot & managed to open it up a hair. Enough to make it work correctly. The only problem now is that only 2 of the 4 screws that mount the whole assembly to the case are long enough. A couple more screws included with the mounting hardware would help out a lot.
