Dr.Trunks Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I've had it stuck quite a few times at 3 LEDs, it means that it does not recognize/detect my RAM. But in the past I would just leave the power off for lets say 15min and continue on, this time its been like 2 days already. This is what I tried: I placed (working) ram from another computer, that did not work. Toggled the DDR voltage jumper from 2-3 (up to 4v) back to 1-2 (default). Safe boot did not work. Reset CMOS, did not do anything. Now I'm seriously thinking something is wrong with my motherboard rather then my RAM. edit: -ive done a full CMOS reset and tried again with ram from another computer and it does seem both my ramsticks have died... moforila Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Which bios you using? Try this, do a long bios clear. Power down, unplug power cable, hold power button to discharge. Bios clear switch and the battery, leave it off for 30 mins. Start by using a single stick of ram, in the 2nd orange slot from the top. Somtimes in a set only one of the sticks can be used as a single setup, try both.

But today it seems like he doesnt want to work again, do i have to reset the damn thing every time i want to use it?? Because it should not work like that. ill tell you what version i have as soon as i can get it on (cant find it anywhere) Do you think updating the BIOS might solve the problem? edit: updated the BIOS seems to be able to reboot for now... Dr.Trunks Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 *Ressurecting my old thread* I still have this problem. Even though I bought an extra pair of ram! Currently i am using 1x512mb Twinmos because it wont boot (even after a long CMOS clear) with more. At the moment my memory is running at 186Mhz speed, not the usual 230Mhz. And let me make this just clear: It does not matter which ramstick I have in my computer. The RAM is NOT overclocked, there is nothing wrong with my RAM as it works in other computers. IT IS the motherboard, and next time i will just get an asus motherboard again. They have enough overclock options too.
Guest navinjohnson Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 It is most likely your RAM. The Lanparty motherboards are very picky and prefer high quality ram with TCCD or BH-5. Here is a thread that you should read over. http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24719 The first portion is a guide to selecting good memory. The second part is a list of known good memory for your motherboard.

When i read your text, i read: The motherboard is of very bad quality, because of that it is very picky with RAM.
MACarter02 Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I was running windows vista for about the second week in a row, and all of a sudden... blam, no picture. Diagnostic leds showed 3 lit, no post. Pulled one stick of RAM, left stick in furthest slot from CPU, cleared CMOS for 15 seconds, using the power button to discharge. And it posted fine after that. Loaded optimized defaults, booted into windows, and then shut down, inserted old stick and loaded optimized again.
Dr.Trunks Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Another kick for greater glory Ive got the same problem again, now for 3 days in a row. Six different brands of memory, 11 memory modules in total have come and gone and none worked (i even tried one pair from Geil that was on the supported list). Im going to return this motherboard, this should not be happening, a motherboard cant be this picky. They dont make these anymore, so i dont have any hopes of getting my data back... Sharp Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Hello, 11 memory modules all using the same memory controller that is on the CPU (which has been overclocked). You appear to have kept everything else constant except the memory, so maybe one of these are at fault, CPU, Board or PSU? CPU has the memory controller on it and is what I would change next. That is if you want to continue fault finding.
