Marsheng Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Does anyone know if the Leadtek Duo 6600GT video card will work on a DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultar-D? I received a pathetic response from Leadtek Taiwan (they said they don't know) Leadtek USA have not responded, and DFI never answered my mail! I know it will work in most SLi mobos, it says it works with SLi enabled mobos, I just wondered if anyone has tried it in an Ultra -D? Thraxz Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I'm sure there is an exception somewhere but ALL PCIe 16x GFX cards will work in ALL boards with a functional PCIe 16x slot. You cannot use SLI or Crossfire on an unmodded Ultra-D. If modded, to my knowledge you can only use SLI.
Marsheng Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Thraxz, because this card has two GPUs on board, and fits in one PCIe 16x slot, it is a bit of an oddball. The website says that it works in an 'SLi enabled' mobo, but then it has a couple of exceptions, see: http://www.leadtek.com/usa/3d_graphic/over...1&pronameid=185 I was hoping to find someone who had tried it out in an Ultra-D. red930 Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Since the specs say the motherboard must support SLI and they indicate that some SLI boards still won't work with the card, it seems like a crap-shoot at best. Your Ultra D will have to be modded to support SLI for you to even test. Follow the guide here... http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10736 If the card won't work and you would rather not keep the board with SLI enabled you can always remove the mod. Marsheng Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Thanks ExRoadie, I had come to the same conclusion. I bought this Duo 6600GT Extreme card brand new for a good price, it may not be worth the hassle to try it out. It will be a good buy for someone though, it seems really well built, and the cooling solution is really good!
