Infinity DARK P965 Board is here! PICS! **56K ALERT**

Recommended Posts

I've not the gear to hook it up yet (PSU, ram), however! Here it is in person!

DO NOTICE...EVERY CAP IS SOLID AND IS IN A $140 BOARD WITH AN ICH8R NOT JMICRON (though it has jmicron too but not for the main.)

Got the board... pics coming up in edit.

Great looking board. Nice to see DFI get away from that ugly green pcb. I've also heard that the black pcb is thicker and sturdier than the old green boards were. I'm interested in seeing the o/c performance and voltage hold up as DFI chose to go with a 4-phase power scheme instead of the 6-phase like on the 975X/G board.

Let us know how it goes Thrax.

Ive seen a ton of 450-500FSB 1mb super pi's on xs... unimpressive..

I agree. Super Pi is all well and good if you are benchmarking or doing it for bragging rights. However, I have had quite a few occasions where I have passed 32M and then failed within the first 5 minutes of Orthos.

That is why SuperPi isn't a requirement for any of the OCDB's here at the Street.

Orthos, Memtest and 3DMark series are the best tools for determining system stability.

A 1M SuperPi calculation at 12 seconds doesn't mean diddly if the rig ain't stable.
