d3daiM Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Whenever I connect my ethernet cable into my nVidia LAN port, it connects up to a point where it has connected to an "Unidentified Network". This is similar to the "Limited or No Connectivity" in Windows XP. As soon as I switch it to my second LAN port, the Marvel Yukon, it magically works. However, on the Marvel Yukon, I sometimes experience random disconnects where I have to reset my modem. This is NOT a Vista problem. I was having the same exact problem on Windows XP. My nVidia LAN had worked before, I don't know why it stopped.
Angry_Games Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 have you tried inputting the MAC address in the bios? use the search function and read the important stickies and you'll find out what this is and how to do it.

d3daiM Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I see..so I must input the MAC address that is labeled on the nVidia LAN enclosure (on the motherboard) in the BIOS? I will have to try that tomorrow.
d3daiM Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 So I inputted the MAC address found on the outside of the LAN into the BIOS and I still got a "Unidentified Network". Any more ideas?
d3daiM Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Do I need to reinstall the nVidia Ethernet Drivers after I change the MAC address?
Kingfisher Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Are you sure you are plugging your LAN cable into the correct port? Do you have it enabled in BIOS?
d3daiM Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Are you sure you are plugging your LAN cable into the correct port?Do you have it enabled in BIOS? I am 100% positive I am plugging it into the correct port. I have internet working on one port right now, this is the Marvel port. I plug it into the next one, the nVidia, and I connect to an unidentified network. I have the port enabled in the BIOS, yes. I have also entered the MAC address, found on the nVidia LAN enclosure, in the MAC input in the BIOS. It did not help.
Kingfisher Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 You can try uninstalling the driver and removing it with device manager. Reboot and install the driver and see if that works.
