Coors Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I could be wrong (I don't burn too many DVD's) but can't you just burn an .AVI file to a disc and play it in a DVD player?

No, most DVD players won't recognise that.. You could make a VCD, but the quality won't be that great.

oc newbie Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Check out avi2dvd it's a freeware program that will do what you want. It will eat up some time but does a pretty good job. It converts it to video ts and will also create the iso for you. Turns out way higher quality than vcd's and if you want to double encode dvd shrink has no problem reading the files it creates. http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2Dvd.html

There are certain DVD players that will play Divx or Xvid files, but there aren't that many.
