Help!!!! How do I AVI

OK I downloaded a old movie its AVI format . How do I convert and copy to CD or DVD so my DVD TV player will see the format and play ?

I could be wrong (I don't burn too many DVD's) but can't you just burn an .AVI file to a disc and play it in a DVD player?

 

No, most DVD players won't recognise that..

 

You could make a VCD, but the quality won't be that great.

Don't know. that would be cool but I don't know all try it. Anyone know if that works?

OK if anyone knows how to do this i sure could use a walk though

Check out avi2dvd it's a freeware program that will do what you want. It will eat up some time but does a pretty good job. It converts it to video ts and will also create the iso for you. Turns out way higher quality than vcd's and if you want to double encode dvd shrink has no problem reading the files it creates.

There are certain DVD players that will play Divx or Xvid files, but there aren't that many.
