jaww^ Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Link -----------------------> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145504 Is this RAM any good? I ordered 1Gig for right now and if its good ill order another One. I rly like the LED concept although i heard it rly doesnt work just for eye candy
Thasp Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 In July 2005, I paid $95 for 2-3-2-6 1 gig DDR400 memory from mushkin. That costs more, for same amount, and looser timings, nearly two years later. It seems a bit insane to me. Not that memory bandwidth matters much on those computers unless you run winrar/quickpar/sfv all day, but stock cas latency 3 on $105 1 gig ddr400 is a bit loose IMO. THEnumber337 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I have these. I think they're a good deal for the money. 2-3-2-5 timings and for after the rebate it's about 82 dollars per gig.
Thasp Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Save yourself the trouble and get TCCD. Most of the 2-3-2-5 or 2-3-2-6 ram, opposed to 2-2-2-5, is usually winbond ch5, which requires high voltage for good clocks, which is a pain in the butt to get to the memory. If your board offers higher voltages, they may not work right, or may mess things up.. TCCD is easier.
Kingfisher Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Corsair makes decent RAM like the one you linked, however they usually are at the top of the highest price list. Those tracer lights do nothing other than look pretty if you have a windowed side door on your case. be aware too that the height of those tracers are taller than standard RAM without the blinky lights. If you have a large heatsink that overhangs the cpu socket it may be an issue. THEnumber337's link from OCZ is a solid choice too. Either way you will be fine, but you will spend more buying Corsair products
