Lord And Icon Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Hi Guys, Something odd has happened to my Dram settings in the BIOS. I normally use 3.3volts with my OCZ ram, the other day my system locked up a few times and I got the BSOD screen more times than I care to remember. I went into the bios and found that the DRAM volts was set to 2.5. But when I went to change it the highest setting was 3.2. Before it went up to 4 volts. How? but more importantly why cant I go above 3.2 volts? Please any help would be great. Thanks Phil
KimTjik Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 3.1V or 3.2V (in the manual it was written 3.1V but I have 3.2V, so I can't say what is correct) is the highest you get with jumper JP17 on default. If you need more your option is to move the mentioned jumper. Be careful to set "CPU VID control" to something else than "auto" before shutting down the system. Make sure you unplug the power cord and take steps to prevent any static electricity, otherwise you could end up having a useless board. Move the jumper (see manual) and next time you enter BIOS higher voltage should be enabled. Don't do this if you're fine using 3.1V(3.2V). Lord And Icon Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Thanks for the reply. The jumper is on the second set of pins which should give me 4 volts. The jumper has been their for over 6 months and I have always been able to set the Dram volts to 3.4 but now only 3.
friskies Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Then there`s probably an error in the bios. Move the jumper back, boot up. Shut down and move it again, maybe that helps
