p5b bios flash, why is it so hard??

Recommended Posts

Alright, finally got my p5b from a very special forum member here :P and I cant seem to flash the darn bios. Been to the asus support website etc and I need to update the afudos before I flash. The thing is, it says to make a bootable floppy but then there is no room for this afudos thing and the bios rom. Tryed without making it bootable and it says remove disk and press and button to restart right after the bios screen. Any insight

See what you can make of this

I use Asus update, yea yea I know, don't use windows programs to update BIOS. But I have used it with every Asus board I have had and it's just too easy.

If you do use it, make sure you are using latest version of it.

You can also use EZ Flash inside BIOS.

Since it wont fit the afudos and the BIOS.rom on the floppy. What you have to do is use two floppy disk......make one the bootable disk with the afudos and use another floppy for just the BIOS.rom alone. I had to do it this way for my P5W board. All the BIOS roms were 1 meg or over.

Is this after a BIOS reflash? if so give the BIOS a reset via the good old mobo jumper.
