parts not in package?

Recommended Posts

I just finally received my DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR motherboard kit from newegg. It looks impressive, but here's the thing:

It didn't come with the FrontX kit, sitckers and badges, and BIOS Manual. DFI said that only comes with the nF4 SLI-DR. Is my UT version a cheaper version then? How is it different, if at all?

My problem is that I really wanted to have the FrontX breakout box kit AND the BIOS manual, and I don't have them, where can I get a copy, or can one of you please scan that manual for me? The main manual says virtually NOTHING on the BIOS settings of the board.

Why did they omit such an important item when it wouldn't cost much to include it.

Also, on the FrontX thing, I found the site for FrontX products, but they don't list an LED kit on their site as one available component...

I talked to a sales guy at DFI, well, I sorta did, he had the thickest Mandarin accent I have ever heard and I couldn't understand a word he said, all I could do was be nice and pretend I understood him, but he was NO help at all.

Can some of you help me, please?

Tons of thanks. I get my video card next week and hope to build with this thing then...

First thing I'd ask is whether you bought it OEM, refurb, or retail. The OEM packages tend to not have as many extras in them as the full retail packages; refurbished boards have whatever was returned by the customer, and sometimes less (typically nothing but the board is in the box). The manual is available in PDF format on the DFI website, but like you said there aren't a whole lot of details on what the BIOS settings do. That's where Google comes in handy. :D

Nope, it was a full retail package from newegg.com.

Also, the manual says it supports RAM up to 512MB but I have 2 x 1 GB RAM modules. Will it support them, I am worried about that because of what the manual does say...

Yeah, checked the manual on the disk, and get this: It is identical to the paper/physical manual shipped with the box **BU-UT** it has more chapters, go figure! Why couldn't they put all the darned chapters on the paper manual, they couldn't have saved THAT MUCH money doing that, and what if someone can't use the disk to read the manual, dag.

So guys, will I be able to use my 1 GB ram sticks? I can't get through on the phone to tech support and they don't return calls.
