Single Drive to Raid 0

Okay, I have two 36 gb raptors but I am only using one. I would like to get the other one running with it in a raid 0 but I don't want to do a fresh install and lose everything since my whole family uses the computer.

Is there anyway to add the other drive? I have 3 250 gig drives I can add as use to store stuff too if that helps.

You will have to "backup" your data or "image" your single drive to another drive.

When you put the existing drive in an array, the data on the drive will be lost.

There is no way around this.

A new array for an OS requires a clean install of the OS.

If I image my data can I just load the image back on the array or will raid drivers give me trouble?

There's some excellent posts on this subject around. Mostly in the Off Topic forum.

If I'm not mistaken, Acronis seems to be the most successful at getting an image on a RAID array.
