Ayone ever use that to sleeve a PSU

Recommended Posts

I will sleeve the PSU of my nf2 rig, and i was thinking of buying one of those

http://www.sunbeamtech.com/PRODUCTS/access...ng_tool-kit.htm

its a sleeving tool kit to help remove the connector, does anyone already use something similiar to this because its easy to remove the molex 4pin but the main connector 24 pins is another story ... tried on an old psu and i wasn't abble to remove it ... any tips ...

ive read the pdf on sleeving in the mod section and it doesn't give much explication on the 24 main pins ....

Sleeving can be SUCH a pain.

There is something called "flagging tape".

Similar to the stuff that cops use to "rope off" a crime scene

It's a fairly thin plastic (comes in various colors) and you can just wrap it around the PSU wires to give it a sleeved look.

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/3836/too...5c133s259#blank

cuz the sunbeamkits cost about 15$ and the main atx tool and molex tool from frozencpu.com will cost the same ...

I bought that Sunbeam kit thinking that it would make sleeving my PSU easy, but it didnt. I ended up bending a couple of the tools and decided to not sleeve my PSU. If you have patience then the Sunbeam kit should work good, I just got frusterated and then bent one of the tools and got even more mad and just stopped.

If that is not the neatest deal ... I will finally wrap my wires.

Many thanks.

Electrical tape works fine. I used it; my case's ventilation is way better. Not so much cable clutter and I don't have that nasty rainbow look in my case. Now, to get rid of the ugly, gritty, gray color inside the chasis.

Heres a look at some cable I wrapped with the flagging tape.

I will tell you the tools above are a pain to use. It will take some practice and patients to use them And be careful with them they break easily

There is nothing that beats the look of real cable sleeving. I have done alot of it and it takes practice and patients to do a nice job.

The molex pin removers work pretty well; I'll have an ATX pin remover in a day or two for re-sleeving my PSU, so I can comment then how well it works.
