Vittra Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 I remember reading somewhere that it might be better performance wise if when using 2 Sata Drives (Not in raid) that putting one on the first channel (1/2) and the second on the other channel (3/4) may be better than putting them on the same channel (1/2 together). Is this true? Basically, i'm talking about putting one one of them (my main raptor) on 1, and my storage drive on 3. This is with the regular SATA ports, not the additional ones controlled by the nvidia-chipset.
loggan26 Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 1/2 and 3/4 are the Nvidia Sata Headers, 5/6 and 7/8 are the SIlicon Image Sata Headers. Logan
Vittra Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Doh, looks like I'm using the Nvidia ones afterall then . In any case, any idea about any performance impact regarding what I meant?
