Dignan Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 So my last attempt at a second vid card in my system failed miserably. Possibly because it was a $3 4 mg POS card that doesn't even have company released drivers. I am looking for some low end Geforce 2,3,4 or there about. If you have a possible card attach a price along with the type of card.
howie b Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 I never understood this....what advantage does that offer if added to a system that already has an AGP card (other than additional monitors)?
young-joseph Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 SOme people like two monitors and some people have a real use for two. My roommate finds it really handy when he is writting code. ANd it's nice to at least have a backup incase your agp card dies.
Dignan Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 I do video editing, and how I lay things out I like to keep all menus (bins, auido tools, color correction, etc.) open. Having 3 monitors would also allow my preview monitors to take up an entire screen which would be nice.

zep_54 Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 lol kinda off topic but like 3 weeks ago at my school in our video editing room, we use a pinnicle capture card that is HUGE, and the software is cluttery, so using 3 matrox g450 pci videocards, matrox dualhead dealys that we had in broken machines... i got 8 monitors set up on one system, after like 4 hours of drivers troubleshooting. But yah it is cool, matrox owns for multi monitor setups. It looked like something outta a movie all these older 17inch monitors stacked and our dual 19inch lcds that run off of the parhelia 128 agp card. Ill post a pic if i can steal a camera.... Real fun for editing cause including the two tv monitors you have 10 screens to look at along with the craping minidv machine and crap, its confusing....but fun. Get a matrox pci card, they own the old nvidia and ati pci cards...
Dignan Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 I doubt anyone has any of those dual head Matrox for sale though. I think I am just going to go buy one. At most I am looking at 55-65 bucks. Not worth waiting 6 months to save 10 bucks.
