MACarter02 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 It doesn't seem like it should work but it does. I saw this at another forum and tried it. Increasing my PCIe Frequency by 3 MHz brought my Core speed up by 6 MHz and my mem speed up 3 MHz (or 6 MHz ddr). Try it out, and tell us if it works for you. My new question is, how high is too high on the PCIe frequency?

HITandRUN Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I have seen people run like 120 but I don't really know what good does that do!

tasr Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I just did a quick test with the SLI rig in my signature. 3DMarks06 with PCI-E 100mhz = 3206 3DMarks06 with PCI-E 105mhz = 3219
Praz Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 You can run as high as the graphics card will handle. High end cards/SLi show the most boost in performance. I run at 140MHz on my ICFX3200. With my QuadGT I can only go to 120MHz as it appears the PCI bus is nor frequency locked.
Splave Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Mine is at 125, I know with 8800 the linkboost or whatever automatically boosts it to 125. All I know is I can get higher Core clocks stable in ATItool with it higher.
schoolslave Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 So, 125 would be ok to run it at?
THEnumber337 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 So, 125 would be ok to run it at? It all depends on what is capable of your motherboard and graphics card. I would suggest bumping it up by 5 and running all the various 3DMark benchmarks and writing down and comparing the scores until you feel it's enough or you may start getting artifacts. I've never bumped mine above 110.
MACarter02 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 what say you folks about the possibility of SATA drive data corruption? BTW: holy crap I run at 140MHz on my ICFX3200
Praz Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 If the pci bus is locked corruption will not occur. If it's not locked it's a real possibility. Just depends on the board.
