China treats Internet ‘addicts’ with tough love & Electroshock

Recommended Posts

Very short version:

http://www.tgdaily.com/2007/02/23/china_el...ternet_addicts/

Long version:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17251571/page/1/

You really should read both articles, not just the short version

-------------

WOW. Treating it like it is similar to a heroin addiction...

I'm not saying that 'internet addiction' isn't a problem in china, but the treatment seems pretty harsh to me.

Makes me happy to not live in china...

I saw that on the news yesterday. It looked more like fear mongering, an attempt to guide the public opinion regarding the Internet, than any kind of news story. But the links you posted are interesting.

Wow, thats pretty intense. I only got to read the short version, the long versions link isnt valid anymore, nor is the one at the bottom of the short version.

Honest to god I could probably use that...but I think it'd be more effective selling off my computer so I'd be forced into finding other, more productive, things to do.
