wont run over 230fsb with 3gbs

Recommended Posts

ok i i tried to put my 2x512 with my my 2x1gbs to make 3gbs.

but it wont run stable over 230fsb for teh cpu so its ony at 2.07ghzs

anything that is 230 or under is stable.

is there something that causes this?

i tried one more time at 260 and 2.400 or sometjing like that and after teh hdd screen it said windows vista error about kernel lol

so i took them out and just use 2gb again.

the rams are diffrent brand adata and kingston both is ddr400.

but the cas are diffrent tho 3.0 for adata and 2.5 for kingston whould that do it?

tho it was stable at 250fsb allmost stock but i want to overclock back to my 2.8ghzs like with my 2gb.

is it hard to overclock with 3gbs? or?

and i had my ram on a devider like allways so it wasint from the ram being overclock.

but i dont know what the problem is:( because i whould love to get the 3gbs to work with my overclock.

Your problem is the ram! DFI mobos are very picky about mixing RAM especially CAS value! Be glad it even booted with two different kinds of ram. I think you will have ti compromise. Either 3G or 2G and overclock! The choice is in your hands! :beer

ya going to stick with 2gb and have my ocoverclock:)

i was thinking it was the cas to but i figured i ask:)

ty for the help:)

oh one more thing about ram. this have nothing to do with 3gb at all.

when i try to go over 2.88ghzs it either not stable or it doesint boot into windows it will give a error message like kernel is missing or that system32 error is missing.

whould that be the ram or the cpu hit it maxxed?

because right now i have to run the ram on the devider 100 lol because it will ony do 100 to 150 which the ram is over ddr420 and not stable ony does 418 when i last had this ram in my dfi 250gb.

so it runs at 333mhzs.

but i was wondering if i get new ram say pc4000 will i beable to get to like 2.9ghzs or 3ghzs?

Well you should read the OVERCLOCKING GUIDE. After that all you questions will be answered. Basically you need to find the max. of your CPU and the max. of your Ram individually and than you test them together. You can't tell which component id limiting your OC now without testing. For example sometimes you get a error or BSOD just because your PSU is not strong enough to deal with your OC.

BTW: Are you looking at selling your 2x512 ram! Would be a little extra cash for your new RAM purchase! ;)

i know my ram does 418 stable but i cant run it with my cpu overclock at 2.8ghzs

because the ony deviders works is 100 and 150 lol which im force to run at 100 ddr 333 i think.

at 150 its runs over ddr420 which this ram is not stable at all.

so far im runing the cpu at 2.83ghz and its stable.

any higher it wont pass superpi.

im wondering if runing on this low of a devider holding the overclock back?

and i let you know if im selling the ram because those 2 rams is what makes my dfi 250gb run.
