Boot Sequence Starting to Hang

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure what's going on. Yesterday I booted the computer first thing in the morning and as it started up, I heard an extended beep and the monitor never showed the BIOS or anything else. I tried shutting down and starting again and this time it got to booting Windows but then automatically reset itself and hung up like the first time.

I pulled the cover off and shut off the PC by pushing the button on the MB and starting it again. This time it booted. I left it on for the day but this morning, the same thing happened again...seems to be getting worse.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

When that happened to me just a month ago, it turned out to be my Ram going bad. The infamous 2x1gig Ballistix. It took a year for the Ram to go bad, but I had the same symptoms as you when it happened. If you have any extra ram laying around that you can use, then check it out and see if that makes a diff. Thats how I found out.
