ChemicalWarfare Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 hey guys. I bought my Ultra-D in November and its been working great... now though, the chipset fan is buzzing really badly. nothing is touching it, and it really sounds like it's fighting to keep spinning. any advice on good low-profile chipset coolers? (im running an 8800GTS so i definitely have to watch how tall it stands) or should i see about contacting dfi to get a replacement? any advice is appreciated! I purchased the Thermalright HR-05 SLI chipset cooler and I am very impressed with it. With a full load it is cooling my chipset passively at 42 C. That's a few degrees cooler than the stock fan was cooling it and the Thermalright is doing it completely silent.
Tragic Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 +1 for Thermalright HR-05 SLI, excellent temps, no compatibility issues and passive
