Firewire/1394 not working on Lanparty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert

Recommended Posts

I can't seem to get my firewire port working on my Lanparty UT. XP can't seem to find it anywhere, and plugging in my camera doesn't cause any action to happen, and can't be detected. Can't find anything in device manager for 1394/firewire that is active OR inactive, nor can I find any settings in the BIOS. I searched DFI's site for a driver, but can't find anything, and I don't have the CD for the board anymore, though I'm not sure it was ever on there in the first place.

Any ideas?

Is it the port on the back of the mobo or one on the case? If it's the one on the mobo then I have no idea but if it's one on the case then the only thing I can think of is to check the connection. Sorry I couldn't be of any help lol.

Which Service Pack are you running on Windows? Did you enable the setting in your bios if listed? If you can't see the IEEE in Network Management than either it's disabled (not sure how) or Motherboard drivers haven't been installed properly. Make sure that TCP/IP is present in the IEEE properties as well if you ever get it working. Good Luck!

Here are some great info if you ever feel like knowing your connections...

I didn't even think of that. Thats more than likely what the problem is. There is a setting in the bios that enables and disables the firewire...at least for the sli-dr anyways.

My bad guys- I was totally looking in the wrong place in the BIOS. Re-enabled it there and now XP can see it again. Doesn't work all that great (getting dropped frames from my camera) but I'll keep poking at it.

Thanks!
