Another reason not to upgrade to Vista.

If you want a smooth switch I suppose the same will apply then as now: it takes MS and other manufacturers quite a while before updates and drivers get the operating system fully functional and fairly secure, which leads to a difficult question: when will it ever be a better time to switch? Two years sounds to me like an impossible pace for MS, unless we're talking minor upgrades of a previous release.

i dont see any reason why u shouldnt move to Vista...

That's interesting. I can give you a few reasons:

1. Games don't perform as well.

2. DRM

3. DX10 games won't be around until late this year, or even next year.

4. Vista is resource hungry.

5. No hardware audio

I could say more, but I believe I've given enough reasons.

i told u, i think its just me :D

in my defense...

1. not that much difference. its still fun. and with the coming drivers, it'll get better.

2. i dont need to buy HD or BluRay...i dont even have an HDTV...

3. im playing SupremeCommander right now...

4. it is. but its more snappy than XP with my rig.... its fast. please, dont compare it to the BETA/RTM...

5. true. DxSound is not supported anymore and getting a driver is a b1tch, but like point#1, good drivers will come in time...

and no, u dont need to say more, coz i know where u are, and trust me, i was there. and theres nothing wrong with that ;)

*sigh, i guess im just getting old and retiring on games...

," Kevin Kutz, a Director in the Windows Client group at Microsoft said on February 13, 2007. "We are not giving official guidance to the public yet about the next version of Windows, other than that we're working on it. When we are ready, we will provide updates."
