Vista upgrade on 975x/g w/raid...

each time I attempt an Upgrade from XP to Vista business, after the first Vista re-boot I get a blue screen with a 7B Stop code.

It seems like after re-boot, Vista no longer sees the C drive due to the RAID driver not being installed.

With XP this was always fixed by pressing F6 etc etc.

Vista Upgrade seems to have no way to install 3rd party drivers that may be needed early on that are required.

I spent hours on the phone with Microsoft "Tech Support". They were only slightly more helpful than my mother would have been.

What am I missing?

I know for a fact that the NF4 Lagecy RAID needs a patch to get Vista to recognize a Raid system, but not sure about your issue. Did you load the Sata Raid drivers when you got to the harddrive installation menu? You might need to hit refresh maybe. I'm not sure, but maybe there is someone here with the same board that can help you out. If i were you i would go to the nVIDIA site to find out more. Good Luck!

Thanks for the feedback, ...especially since I somehow managed to post my question in the overclocking section! yeesh.

yea, the sata raid is installed and running fine in winXP. And I even installed the Vista/XP drivers in win xp..works fine.

I did find a post elsewhere that stated if you need to load 3rd party drivers for RAID you cannot do a Vista UPGRADE. No way to do a F6 install of drivers in a Vista upgrade. Only way to do it is with a clean install.
