But there are somethin that i cannot see or find in my bios. Hope any of you can help me. Here it goes : When i want to oc my cpu. there are some options i cannot find or that i not surely understand. From the oc guide : Finding the max of your CPU/RAM : These i'm not sure to where to use. CPu/FSB Frequency Ratio (CPU Multi) : How can i find my value ? and which one is it in the bios ? LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio (LDT Multi) And LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio (Ram Ratio) : There are two here. But i can only find one in my bios ? CPU VID (Voltage Identifications) : In this one it states that i should set it to 1.6-1.7. But it seems that i cannot set them that high ? HTT/FSB : These should be easy. Lol. In my bios they should be : FSB Bus Frequency Were a start. Ss. Please if u can. Make a copy of my bios text and add some numbers to them. So i know what to chance to do what is said in the oc guide. Guest LookBackX2 Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Welcome. In order for someone to supply a generic settings template for you to start with. ie.. stock stable settings, you will need to list what hardware you are using. This is very importatnt, since different hardware will OC differently, and maybe not at all. Another suggestion I will make is to visit the OC Database, specifically the Stock Speed Database Search through the entries, and find one with similar if not the excact hardware you are using. You might even compare different entries with the same hardware to get an idea of what you might need to tweak if the settings aren't working perfect for you. After this step, or if someone supplies you with settings, you may be ready to start upping the fsb. When you get that far, you might start consulting the Overclocking Database This is where members post their stable OC's and settings along with a generally standardised list of benchmark results. If you study these places, play with your settings, study somemore, ask lots of questions, and be patient......As long as your hardware is up to it, you'll be ready to make an entry yourself. It's alot of work, but in the end, it's worth it. I am working on my first OC Database entry @2860 cpu speed, and ddr520 using a 180/200 mem/cpu ratio. I hope to get it completed by this weekend. It only took me 9 months...lol Hope this helps you, and good luck!
tasr Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Hello Hugblue, Welcome to the Street. While a signature is no longer required making one will greatly help us in helping you. Check out the Rules for instructions and examples. A lot of your overclocking depends on what your motherboard, CPU and RAM are. CPu/FSB Frequency Ratio (CPU Multi) :How can i find my value ? and which one is it in the bios ? LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio (LDT Multi) And LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio (Ram Ratio) : There are two here. But i can only find one in my bios ? CPU VID (Voltage Identifications) : In this one it states that i should set it to 1.6-1.7. But it seems that i cannot set them that high ? HTT/FSB : These should be easy. Lol. In my bios they should be : FSB Bus Frequency To answer some these questions I’ll refer you to the “Guide” read it then re-read. Here is the link; The Definitive DFI AMD Overclocking Guide. So even if you’re not planning to overclocking it is filled with all kinds of info about your BIOS settings. Understanding those settings will take you a lot farther with your rig.
hugblue Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 My system spec is ::: cpu : amd athlon x2 .. 64 bit. 4200 Mhz cpu cooler : zalman cnps7000b motherboard : DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-D ram : kingston and corsair ( 2*512 mb = kingston pc3200 400mhz ) and ( 2*1024 mb = corsair ddr pc3200 400mhz cas3 ), = 3072 MB graphic card : nvidia geforce 7950 gt pci-e 256mb Graphic card cooler : gfx zalman vf900-cu psu : silent giant 14cm fan. 550W - - - Hope this info helps. To LookBackX2 ... I have read alot many places. But still its a jungle. To tasr ... I have read the whole "The Definitive DFI AMD Overclocking Guide". But the problem is that in the guide, it refers to some settings in bios. But even if it is said in the guide. Its hard for me to see which bios options he is talking about. Because they are not named the same or have different numbers that i cannot find in my bios. - - - Because i wish that someone would take my bios info. And help point out the bios options should be changed. according to the bios guide. Is that it would help me understand it alot better. Is a little worried to do something wrong. Hope this new info will help someone of you to help me. Thz.
