Recommended Posts

ok so I go to install my 80gb rma HDD from WD, I go to create a partition and it says it has to delete my C drive (my other 500gb raid setup) for me to be able to use the 80...I cancel the installation...unplug the raid with comp off and install the 80gig on its own now I reconnected them started up my comp and if i boot to the 500gb OS it just "hangs" at "verifiying dmi pool"...ok! and it won't budge past it....

im running it bone stock, I have cleared cmos, and tried safe booting...nothing so far..:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

any ideas would be appreciated.....THANKYOU!!!

P.S. I was thinking maybe bios flash? is that gonna do me any good?

So are you doing an OS install on the 80GB drive or just installing it for data or whatever? If just for data, have you enbled that SATA port in the BIOS and do you have the boot order correct? Any SATAI or II jumper on the drive that needs to be configured correctly?

Hello,

What SATA ports have you used?

SATA1 = ?

SATA2 = ?

SATA3 = ?

SATA4 = ?

This is what you should have,

SATA1 = 250GB

SATA2 = 250GB

SATA3 = 80GB

SATA4 = N/A

And in the bios you need to do this in the RAID section,

(integrated peripherals)

SATA1 = Enabled

SATA2 = Enabled

SATA3 = Disabled

SATA4 = Disabled

Then you need to set your hard drive boot order,

80GB First

RAID 2x250GB second.

And your boot order,

1st = floppy

2nd = CD rom

3rd = hard drive

Is this how your board has been setup?
