Hello,

First time posterr, long time reader of what i do believe was the old 'DIY' forums the DFI-Street or whatever it was.

Anyways, my problem is, i have my copy of Windows Vista showing up tomorrow or the day after, yay you might say? well the problem i have got here is i use BOTH my Gigabit LAN ports, my Silicon RAID controller (no RAID configs, just single drive) AND the Nvidia RAID Controller for a RAID-0 config of 4 drives.

So what i essentially need to know will work/need drivers for are the following:

Marvell Gigabit LAN

Nvidia Gigabit LAN

Nvidia RAID Controller

Silicon Image RAID Controller

Onboard Audio Module (forget the name, but its 8 ch one)

and ALL in 64bit =)

Hope to hear from someone soon, thanks guys =)

I had to use the drivers from this tutorial (for the RAID array). These are only nForce drivers though. For the Silicon drivers, I'm not sure if Vista has those bundled. My array was recognized during install but Windows wouldn't install to it until I specified these drivers. It seems to work now. As far the other drivers go you should be fine with the "packaged" drivers.

Use this for the Raid 0

The Silicon chipset drivers should automatically be detected by Vista.

All the other drivers were found by Vista when installed on my Expert.

But I updated the marvell lan gigabit drivers from marvell's site.

You can use Vista RC1 or XP64 drivers from Nzone and Nvidia website to update the SMBus and Nvidia ethernet adapter.

Thanks heaps for that guys, i also emailed off to DFI (san jose department, i am in australia i just picked a random one :P) and only posted here cos i was not sure on their response time, this is the response i got however:

The Vista RAID driver has problem on system with legacy type of NF4. Legacy type of NF4 is a system that has options to create SATA and PATA RAID array at the same time, and Expert falls in this category. I will suggest you not to upgrade to Vista at this moment as our engineering team is currently working on this issue. I will keep you updated as soon as a solution becomes available.

So i am presuming these are custom made/hacked drivers?

Once again though, thanks for all your help i look forwared to testing this out and 'hopefully' not losing any of my data :P

Yeah, these will have to do until Nvidia released some WHQL drivers for Vista.....but who knows when that will be

I'm very glad I got mine up and running....I tried so many drivers. Just follow my link on my previous post to set up the RAID.
