fmc_boss Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 You might want to consider better RAM - i'm not sure how well that stuff clocks, but it's only rated @ 533.
Angry_Games Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 if you are going to overclock, you definitely want DDR2-800Mhz or better look in the overclocking database here and see what I used to overclock to 3.2Ghz easily with an E6400 and DDR2-800Mhz on the Gigabyte GA-965P-S3
InVeNtOr Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Angry, i saw a bunch of people in that tread using the DFI 975X/G Infinity 9/13/06 BIOS. should i go with that one or the GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3???

momoceio Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 I'd forget the e6600 and go for a e6400/e6300/e4300..you get close to the same overclock out of them.
iamkoza Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 also, check out the x1600xt on newegg made by saphire, it is the same price as the 6600 you picked out, but will give better performance.... there is also a 7600 gt on newegg made by bfg with a giant rebate putting it in the same price range which will perform even better for less than $100 x1600xt for $90 shipped AR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102060 7600gt for $97 shipped AR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814143049
