CharmedLover84 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Greetings all, decided to finally get off my a$$ and post this problem. It started a few weeks ago when I installed the latest NVidia drivers for the 8800 series. It fixed the Oblivion madness, which everyone is happy about... but it seems it screwed up something else in the process. Everytime I run Aquamark 3 now, when it gets to the "Large Scale Environment" test or whatever it is with the poppy ball things, it slows down. WAY down. My AM3 score went from 125K to 100K because of it, that's how bad it is. am I alone in this problem or no?
Darkorb Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 its just a benchmark..
CharmedLover84 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Yeah but it's also a stability test, I don't like a stability test having performance issues all of the sudden. And I say it's only AM3 cuz that's the only thing I've noticed it on. But now that I think about it, I haven't played anything except Oblivion and Dark Messiah since I've gotten the 8800GTX. I'll have to test other games this week.
tasr Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Did you try to reinstall Aquamark 3?
CharmedLover84 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I haven't tried that yet... I'll give it a whirl tonight, I'm at work right now

Haven't had any problem with 8800's and AM3 here but I am running a 3.9Ghz Conroe in an eVGA 680i MB now too. Stone stock, standard clocked 8800GTX single card scores 197,000+ in AM3. CharmedLover84 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Reinstall had no effect, the Large Scale Vegitation test thingy still slows down. My AM3 score is 111K instead of where it should be, kinda ticks me off.

CharmedLover84 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Yes, I mean the 97.92s. They fixed the Oblivion problem but both the 97.44s and the 97.92s have the AM3 problem for me.

Which drivers were you using when you were scoring higher??? Viper
CharmedLover84 Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 The originals that had all the quirks to them I think. I dunno. I'll have to try and check.
CharmedLover84 Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I feel... like a GIANT ******* MORON, pardon my french. Found out what the problem was. Under my "NVidia Control Panel" settings I "Forgot" that I had AA supersampling, 4x AA, and Gamma Correction AA all enabled and set to OVERRIDE APPLICATION. I just tested at video card stock and got 127K. Man I feel stupid, sorry for posting a NON-ISSUE guys.
