That's the reason I have just gone to Intel Core 2 Duo e6600/DFI Infinity 975X/G.

We don't have Newegg here in the UK & after trying 3 Opteron 165 trying to get a 3GHZ one the price of decent steppers went from £80.00 to £160.00+

Wow, That sucks. They must be getting low. The Opty 165 and 185 are still priced reasonable at Tiger Direct. Only 350 for the 185 and 160 for the 165.

no more opty 165 from newegg, this sucks.

To be honest likewhoa, most Opty's have been as rare as rocking horse **** for a long time now in the uk. In the USA you have been lucky with the egg having so many, and good steppings at that. Got an itchy feeling on my foot, could it be calling me to the "Dark side"?

lol, i'm waiting to see what AMD brings to the door this year, i know they will not dissapoint us. don't go to the darkside :D

I am as well really, i hav'nt had this rig long enough to justify changing again. It's just bloody annoying not having a worthwhile AMD upgrade path at the moment. Oh well, just have to wait for AM3 and DDR3 :(
