Yeah been looking at the XTX7900Gs $150 after rebate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814150202

I think you have just swayed me, how are the temps with it?

Ack, sorry I haven't replied sooner. If you haven't ordered all your parts yet they still have this VGA on newegg after rebate for 145. My temps are around 51C idle and maybe in the 70s on load. It's not as bad as my old 6800GT. I plan on putting a VGA cooler on it though.

CPDMF your 100% spot on, I was blinded by the awesome cooling on the DQ6 that I neglected the other stuff. Wangerin I didnt even consider that RAM as I havent really seen it in anyones rig but it does look like awesome stuff, Plus I have a $20 promo code so its like 170 bucks for 2 x 1 Gb.

Now I can get the cooler I want. Ty also Praz and Raider, I'm gonna go for the E4300 as the OC seems a little easier on the FSB. I will be very happy with a 3Ghz(hopefully) C2D machine that is sure to smoke my current rig.

Ok so here is the revised list. I still have about 2-3 weeks before Taxes hit the bank. But im liking this list at the moment.

CPU: E4300: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819115013

Mobo: DS3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813128012

GPU: X1950pro: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102061

PSU: Rosewill 500w: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817182016

RAM: Buffalo 2 x 1Gb: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820150054

HSF: Zalman 9500: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835118003

$750 Total + $20 Rebate = $730

Edit: PSU has good reviews but im flexible on this

If you haven't ordered yet I'd really consider the E6300 over the E4300 - from what I've read some boards have had issues overclocking it very well, something to do with a strap issue. I don't know it the DS3 exhibits this issue or not...

And the Firestix are real nice, I got some up to 1153 4-4-4-9 with no issues on an nf590 - FSB limited.

I've read logic about 4300 having higher multi. so achieving higher mhz with lower fsb. It sounded good .... Of course higher fsb pushes ram speed (good or bad) at least it did with AMD I think. (Flaming welcome)

Edit:

... from Praz

Stock settings:

E4300 - 200*9=1800MHz

E6300 - 266*7=1860MHz

Now lets look at overclocking to 3200MHz. The 4300 with a 9x multiplier will require a FSB of 355MHz. The 6300 using a 7x multiplier is going to need the FSB at 457MHz.

It's a lot more difficult to push a board to 457MHz then it is to 355MHz.

This makes sense to me. What am I missing?
