Zeldor Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Ive been buying and selling a few FX-60s on Ebay. I intend to keep one for myself before Im done but dont know much about FX 60 Steppings. I googled it and couldnt find what I was looking for. Anyone here know the best stepping for the FX 60 as far as overclocking ability goes? Thanks in advance for your "positive" input. A few things I dug up: http://www.allegro.pl/item145880872_x2_380...kt_okazja_.html It was an X2 3800, but the stepping was identical except for the LCB1E, with the L standing for (I'm assuming) 2x512 cache. Said he got it to 3GHz with 1.5v (I guess). http://www.oc-db.org/?showresult=450&PHPSE...d80d55b86dd6dd8 http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...l%3Den%26sa%3DG Page was translated, but there's a result under some guy named BatmanXX with a 3GHz OC on 1.44v. Zeldor Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Hmm Interesting. Thanks. I dont know why stepping info on the FX 60 is so hard to find. Everyone and there brother knows what good Opty stepping are.
Coors Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Because not many people buy fx60's. It's cheaper to buy an opty and OC it.
Zeldor Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Not anymore it isnt. FX-60 is 299.99 at Tiger Direct in a Motherboard combo:) I see what your saying though.

I think most people bought the FX-60 just because of the unlocked multiplier. Other than that, I really see no logical reason to buy an FX (other than the cool box and sticker )
RAINMAKA Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Even with the FX-60 being $300 a Opteron is still cheaper and could give a higher overclock. If I had the money I would get a FX-60 because a unlocked multiplier could be fun and a phase setup would make it even better. Zeldor Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I have Optys as well but I have several PCs and wanted to have a Fx 60 in at least one of them:) Besides Im not the best OCer. I can most likely make my FX 60 run higher than I can my Optys with the skills I have atm anyways.
