Well... my first FULL build... any thoughts?

I'm looking at these components? I like to game. And I also have been getting quite seriously into video editing. Would you change anything? (Particularly in the RAM and video card department? The video card I've chosen is a little too expensive for me, but I don't know what to choose. My mind is confused from all the research I've done on the net lately.)

Plus I live in Canada(but I have a US address I could ship to). Any thoughts on the best company to buy from? All the prices I have below are from NCIX.com with the equivalent US$ value at today's exchange rate.

Mobo: DFI LanParty UT ICFX3200-T2R/G $309.99CAN ($262.67US)

Processor: Intel C2D E6600 $399.99CAN ($338.88US)

RAM: Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400C4 CL4-4-4-12 $368.73CAN (312.44US)

Video Card: ATI Radeon X1950 XTX 650MHZ 512MB $502.85CAN ($426.10US)

HD: 2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB SATA2 $259.80CAN ($220.15US)

PSU: Fortron FSP Epsilon FX700-GLN 700W ATXV2 $156.40CAN ($132.50US)

Case: CM Stacker STC-T01-UW $145.00US @ Newegg ($171.10CAN)

DVD Writer: Samsung SH-S182 DVD+-R/W DL $43.73CAN ($37.05US)

Floppy Drive: whatever $9CAN ($7.62US)

MS Windows XP Home Ed OEM w Vista upgrade coupon $112.60CAN ($95.41)

TOTAL: $2333.16 ($1976.79US)

So, that's it. I'd appreciate any feedback.

You could save a bundle by not getting the ICFX3200 - if you really, really like to tweak it's a great board. If you don't, you'll probably hate it.

Look for some Intel 965 chipsets (Gigabyte has a couple nice ones) for under $200. Since you're overclocking I'd grab an E6300, E6400, or even E4300 (if its available yet).

I've never done any overclocking before. I'd like to, but I probably won't be extreme at all. What about the DFI Infinity 975X/G instead of the ICFX3200?

So, you don't like the e6600? I don't even know what the e4300 is. sounds way slower than what I've chosen.

Well the good thing about the 6600 is that it has the extra cache. Bu even with an e4300 or e6300/6400 you can overclock the crap out of them to perform better than the e6600 at stock

But then, could you not "overclock the crap" out of the e6600 to reach performance levels that the others couldn't reach? Please forgive my extreme newbiness.

Well if you aren't overclocking, definitely stay away from the ICFX then.

The Infinity is an excellent board, and if you just want to try your hand at overclocking while still having a good 'stock speed' processor, the E6600 is a great choice.

The stock heatsink is not particularly good, though it'll suffice at stock speeds just fine. If you're going to use it at least get some aftermarket thermal paste to go with it.

Depends on the board, most E6400s will achieve anything their higher counterparts will do, it's all a matter of how much stable FSB the board can supply.
