Guest DrAgO Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Specs: DEL e520 intel pentium d 925 dual core 2gb necc dual channel ddr2 667mhz sdram 256 nvidia 7300 onboard 7.1 xp pro Problem: Hi i just bought this computer from del and im using a Logitec Z-5500 digital surround 5.1 setup. Iv'e connected all the right cables in the right spot both Tower and "surround control unit", and for some reason the computer will not reconigse it. The only way for it to work is insert the front speakers jack into the headphone port on the computer.. is there any programs or settings that can be adjusted to fix the problem. Cheers
Angry_Games Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 normally if you are using the front audio ports, there have been jumper changes within the sound card (or onboard sound). You should look up the manual at Dell or call someone at Dell and ask them how to make it work (or find out which audio unit is on the board or in the pc and then look up the jumper settings for enabling/disabling front audio ports)
