I would build a C2D PC.. best bang for the buck right now. If I'm inferring correctly, when you said "video card - not even out yet.." I take it you mean R600, right? DFI has the ICFX-3200 (I think that's what it's called) that supports Crossfire... And the Corsair PSU can be had for much less on buy.com or zipzoomfly.com. Just a heads up

red930 Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 was looking into the GeForce 8600 Ultra .... http://www.guru3d.com/newsitem.php?id=4834 Ah. Sorry for my misunderstanding. At any rate though, I would still focus on a build centering around the C2D. Your call, though. Other than that, go for it!
dr_bowtie Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 That build looks good to me...and if you get the card your thinking let us know how you like it... seems the 8800's are good so it would be nice to see some real world feedback for the lower cards...enjoy

Retrospekt Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 C2D is short for Core 2 Duo, Intels new line of processors. They demolish benchmarks right now, and the prices on them aren't that outrageous. They also happen to be very overclockable under good air cooling, at very low voltages i might add. Although if you like AMD, that processor should be fine and overclock decent. As for the PSU, have you thought of going for something more well known, like maybe an OCZ Gamestream? Other than that though, everything looks great. Retro
