MsB Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Look what I have. I custom ordered it from Danger Dan as soon as I got my board. Shet them the measurements and a friend of mine that owns the Company hooked me up. I will be setting up the board and seeing how well this baby cools today but It may take a while to get back here with any results. I'm not a tech and I'm slow. I also need insulate all the blocks etc before I can test. However I'm sure that it will be superior to anything out there cause hey, its DD!. Note the nifty hook and spring installation method. Its so simple and easy to install and take off. I wish cpus were this easy. First I will try it with the cpu in loop and with a dual 120 blackice extreme and a dual micro radiator. than after I get it up and running stable etc. I will go to chilled liquid for everything. NB, cpu,and vid cards. As soon as its up and runnning and I have more to post I will change my sig to reflect my new rig. but for now its a E6300 and ATI branded OCZ pc800 memory Also thats a TDX block on the CPU. before you go running to DD to buy you should know they don't have them for sale as a regular item yet and whether they will is still up in the air however if you to their site and custom order a 680i block for chipset with custom top for RD600 mobo and tell them you want it like MsB's or that I sent you. I'm sure they will hook you up but it may be at slightly higher price because they have to make the top from scratch. If you want one but don't want to pay extra for custom , go to their forums and post that you want them to stock these and if ten or so of you do that I'm sure they will punch a bunch out for retail. Coors Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Nice! So this was the secret you couldn't tell us lol.
red930 Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Nice pics, but you probably didn't have to custom order it. I originally had bought the DFI 'Expert' block from them, then purchased the Intel top for the same block when i got my Infinity 975 X/G. Not sure if the kit is still available or not though. Turns out the same block fits on the ICFX as well, even up to 2v doesn't get above 40C....though you shouldn't need that much. I'm still leery of those spring clips, but it seems to be on there pretty well - good luck with your overclockin. Edit: The copper bottom is identical to mine, however I also have a brass spacer in there that is at least a 1.4" thick. My spring are much, much more compressed than yours - I hope they don't pull out.
MsB Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Yeah but I figured I payed for it so I can show it off.

lugie Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 uhm, am I nuts, aren't there only two hooks on the motherboard(you have four springs)? is this a mod, or am I just...?
MsB Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 nope theres 4 hooks
red930 Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Here's what I'm using: I'm guessing that this block is the same one, as the top I purchased was designed for the 975 chipset. But without pictures it's impossible to tell. I'm guessing the custom version isn't all that much more, cutting that lucite should be cake for them. http://www.dangerden.com/store/product.php...1&cat=46&page=1 Oh, and the springs don't look all that different from yours, guess I was wrong on that one... MsB Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Nice work technodanvan. I thought about that but I didnt have an extra block and I wanted everything exact. your right if inough folks ask for the block, I'm sure they will produce it for about the same as 680i chipset block/. Do you have any results to share?
MsB Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 well here s my first results using water and the radiators i mentioned. As you can see the NB is dictating the remps of cpu since its in the same loop. I cant believe how hot it runs. Im wondering if SG is reporting right. I think this waterblock is doing well . I have nb at 1.42v prolly could be less but Im just starting to get the hang of this baby. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a373/MsB...er/untitled.jpg also isnt that a pretty high fsb? I havent had time to even think about prime . LOL sorry angry Ill try to size better next time.
lugie Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Dan, I'm taking your advise, just order the 975 chipset block. Can't wait to get this thing cranking. MSB: What does your loop consist of? and what radiator exactly?
MsB Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 look at my first post lugie for rad info . Ok heres an update I have the NB set at 1.5 volts so I have a lot to go and haven't even kicked in the chiller. I cant oc my memory worth a crap though I think DFI is gonna have to make a bios update for pc800 probs. after running this thing for a while I definitely would put this NB on its own loop if you want to really oc well because it adds a lot heat to a WCing sys.
