tweakerxp Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I can't seem to overclock my RAM at all, even by 1 notch (403Mhz) up from 400Mhz stock. I've tried upping the voltage, loosening timings, everything I can think of to no avail. Any ideas? System details in sig. Praz Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Try something Set the processor for 7x400 and the memory at 400 and see if the system boots. Been seeing this issue with some 6400 memory. Got one board sitting here doing the same.

Got one board sitting here doing the same. Board boots fine at 7x400 with RAM at 400. Of course 403 still fails with the lovely C1 diag led and beeps. Do you figure this a BIOS issue that will be fixed in the next release?
Praz Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Right now not sure if it's a bios issue or SPD problem. Probably won't be able to check about the SPD till tomorrow

Yellowbeard Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I've already sent a email to the lab. I have no idea if we have this MOBO in house to test with. I'll find out and get back with you guys ASAP.
Yellowbeard Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 As of today, JAN 23, our lab guys have a board on the way. I'll update you as soon as I know something. My guess is that this is going to require a bios revision by DFI as it seems to be IC-centric and not linked to any 1 brand of memory. Yeah, I'm starting to hear more reports of other people having this problem; it's certainly something with the board.

Praz Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Yellowbeard thank you for looking into this. I agree with the bios being the problem as this issue does not appear to be brand specific. My issue will be resolved as of tomorrow. I just got done ordering a set of PC2 8500 Dominators.
